You can easily compare info about these schools in this site – schools.iblogger.org

Do you think this business idea is good/will work?

I am 16 years old so this business won’t be official until I am in my twenties, hopefully early or mid 20’s.

I want to call the business: Innovation Renovation.

Basically it is a business focused on renovating clients homes. I am not 100 percent on the details yet but I am thinking we can do the interior if they want.

Or if a client buys a piece of property and wants to knock the house down and rebuild it, they can tell us what they want the house either to look like, how many bedrooms or what they want in it and such and then we will design and build it.

The company can also buy property themselves and then either knock it down, re-build it and sell for more, or just renovate the inside.

Now, I am sort of into design, so I am considering getting a career in Architecture, which takes 4 years, and then a degree in Interior Design afterwards, which takes 2 years.

After I have the schooling I would want to start the company and then hire Real Estate Agents and Construction company’s to actually build the house and help with the property purchasing and such.

That is the one possibility, the others are, I can also get a Real Estate degree on top of the architecture and interior design degree and do everything myself, OR I don’t get an architecture/interior design degree and only get a Real Estate Degree, still open the same company but then hire Architects and Interior Designers. What do you think?

Are any of these even good business plans? Which would work better? Would I have time to do everything myself (designing, real estate and the business aspects)? Thanks

What you described is an idea and not a plan. A plan is an developed idea with a logical path on how to achieve a certain goal. You’re only 16 so you will have a lot of time to develop your idea. Fundamentally, your idea is flawed since it failed to address the most challenging aspect of business, finding clients. You will need to objectively answer the simple question of why will people buy your product. There are many other companies in the same business with a lot more experience and design credibility. How will you be able to set yourself apart? You may want to consider working in the construction, development, or real estate trade before opening shop in order to gain work experience.

What is the point of going to school for Interior Design if the program is not accredited?

is suffolk university a good school to go to for interior design?

i know it is known primarily for it’s law school and business school, but i was curious about how good the interior design progran (which is through the new england school of art and design) is in comparison to other universities?

I haven’t been to the Suffolk university. Have a look at the Norwich university though because it is not far away the suffolk university and is an art and design university.
